Unique Fusion Expertise: The MaDCoR group and the UW Ion Beam Laboratory (NSUF partner facility) provide high-throughput ion irradiation (single and dual beam), up to 20 independently controlled samples per run, temperatures to 1,000 °C, doses to hundreds of dpa in days, for screening plasma-facing and structural materials (W, RAFM steels, V alloys, SiC), with automated microstructural quantification and ML-guided alloy down-selection. We also run high-throughput molten salt (FLiBe-relevant fluoride and chloride) corrosion testing with controlled redox and in-situ electrochemistry for blanket and coolant materials.
